One of the many new features of iOS 13, iPadOS 13 and macOS Catalina is the ability to share note folders in the app Notes. As a result of this activity we can enable other people to access (and edit indiscriminately) all notes found in the shared folder. Just as we can share a folder, there may come a time there we want to stop sharing it.
How to stop sharing a folder in the app Notes
When we stop sharing a folder from Notes all notes and contents contained it will be automatically deleted from all devices of all the people we could interact with. The steps to stop sharing a folder are very simple.
From our iPhone or iPad
- We open the app Notes.
- We open the notes folder.
- We touch the icon in the form of three points inside the circle.
- We choose See participants.
- If we want to stop sharing a folder with everyone who has access, press Stop sharing.
- If we want to stop sharing a folder with someone who can access it, click on its name and then tap Remove access
From our Mac
- We open the app Notes.
- We make sure we view the folder list in the sidebar by tapping Show folders menu See you. If this method does not appear, it is because we already see them.
- We touch the icon in human form to the right of the shared folder.
- If we want to stop sharing a folder with everyone who has access, press Stop sharing
- If we want to stop sharing a folder with a specific person from those who have access, click on the circle with three dots that appear when you collapse their name and touch Remove access.
- We're pressing Agree.
Please note that while all content in a folder will disappear on all devices we exclude access to, we will not be able to prevent you from copying note content or taking a screenshot.
