The foldable mobile market is still young and can still be improved; Therefore, every new device that hits the market has something special that sets it apart from the rest. In the case of the Huawei Pocket 2 presented today, this “special” is photography, because it depends on it more than any other similar foldable we have seen.
Indeed, far from being dead, Huawei continues to cause a lot of war with new launches, at least in its native China. It remains to be seen if the new Pocket 2 will arrive in Europe, given the limited number of launches announced by the brand last year, but it would be a shame if it did not arrive, since it is one of the most the most interesting folding clamshell devices on the market.
For starters, the Pocket 2 is the first foldable of its kind to have four rear cameras, something surprising given the limited space available when closing the device. The big sacrifice to implement this set of cameras has been the screen, which does not follow market trends and continues to occupy a small circle of 1.15 inches to display notifications and access to functions.

In return, the Pocket 2’s four cameras should be the preferred option for the most passionate photography users. The main sensor is 50 Mpx, with OIS and an f/1.6 aperture. It comes with a 12MP wide-angle camera with f/2.2 aperture, as well as a telephoto lens with 3x magnification and f/2.4 aperture.
The funny thing is that the fourth sensor is actually not a traditional camera, but a 2 Mpx ultraviolet ray sensor
Design will be another important aspect of the Pocket 2, with Huawei betting on different textures and patterns. Black and purple models they will have vegan skin, offering a “premium” texture to the touch; while the white and gray models will have a glass cover, but with a marbled effect like that of the Huawei P60 Pro arriving in Europe. Although it is foldable, the Pocket 2 has IPX8 water resistance.
As for hardware, this Pocket 2 uses a Kirin 9000S processor designed by Huawei itself to avoid American sanctions; It is a chip manufactured in 7nm also used in the rest of the company’s high-end models, accompanied by 12 GB of RAM. As for the main display, it is a 6.94-inch LTPO OLED panel, with a variable refresh rate of up to 120Hz. The 4,520mAh battery supports charging up to 66 W and 7.5W reverse charging.
At the software level, it should not be surprising that this mobile has HarmonyOS by default in China, which will probably switch to MIUI if it arrives in Europe. It was launched with a starting price of 7,499 yuan (975 dollars).
