Xiaomi has refreshed the software for your Android phones with HyperOS. Since its launch a few months ago, it has continued to reach more and more devices from the famous Chinese manufacturer. And it is worth differentiating the Chinese version – as was already the case with MIUI – from the global version, which arrives in Europe for the Mi Pilot.
Now, as NotebookCheck reports, even updating three 2021 phones to HyperOS, demonstrating how crucial this new version of its software is for Xiaomi. These are the three models chosen.
Three Xiaomis from 2021 catch up with HyperOS
With the first public beta of Android 15 in circulation, rumors are starting to spread that Xiaomi will update to the next major version of Google’s operating system. However, the popular Chinese manufacturer continues its journey with HyperOS after rolling out the beta version of the Mi10 2020 family phones.
arrives on stable version for three 2021 models, top of the range. It is nevertheless striking that these three phones, the Xiaomi Mi 11, Mi 11 Pro and Mi 11 Ultra, are making the jump to Android 14. They are doing so at the moment in “internal tests of the official version”.
In other words, this is still a beta version of an update which is at a good point of maturity and corresponds to the numbering 1.0.2.0. UKACNXM. As this is not a stable public release, few users are receiving it: those who signed up for the Mi Pilot program.
Outside of its home country, the update has not been released. The nomenclature of the update package itself reveals (by the letters “CN”) that it is intended for China. However, this clearly indicates that will eventually reach the rest of the world.
We could test it by changing the firmware region, although after this information there should not be much left to see it spreading to the Mi 11 worldwide. We will have to make room, since the notes indicate a 5.3 GB download.
The changelog mentions a “low-level refactoring” undergone by HyperOS – which maximizes software performance – and lower power consumption, which should result in a better autonomy to these mobiles three years late. Don’t forget a new security patch and revised interface.
Would you like to try it as soon as possible on your Xiaomi Mi 11? You can register for the Mi Pilot Global program, to receive it as soon as it is ready on our territory. Then you can update as before: “Settings” > “About” > “Software Update”.
