When Google announced its new Google TV Streamer, I had mixed feelings. On the one hand, I felt like Google was finally raising the bar with its set-top box, making it an ideal device for Smart TV enthusiasts. But saying goodbye to Chromecasts was bad news for most people, for whom a simple, cheap and functional gadget is enough to enjoy the Google TV experience. If we talk about me, the Google TV Streamer is a treateven if you have a Google Chromecast 4K at home
13 CHROMECAST TIPS with GOOGLE TV 2021 to get the EVERYTHING out of it
I am a technology lover and I am clear that the Google TV Streamer is what I was looking for
While I never felt like the 4K model was pedal powered, an improvement in hardware is always appreciated as it does it for other tasks. I missed it being fasterespecially opening applications.
I usually install applications to test them and to date, I have had the good habit of uninstalling them afterwards because, well, 8GB fills up relatively quickly. With 32 GB, I can install more apps without worrying too much about space. In short, for my intensive use, this improvement is appreciated.
The next question is something differential and long overdue: the Ethernet port. When the router is relatively close to the TV (as is my case), using a cable to connect the two devices is always a new idea.
On the one hand, to minimize drops and cuts, but on the other hand, to enjoy 4K as it should be. In my case I have services that allow me to play content in 4K like Prime Video or Atresplayer Premium (which I currently have), as well as others like Disney+, Max or Movistar Plus+ and using Wi- Fi, I sometimes suffered from cuts, jolts and grain. With the cable, data transfer is smooth and it shows.
These are the three previous innovations that put the new Google TV Streamer on my radar (although I admit I’m waiting for a deal), but there are a few other things I’ll take advantage of: that customizable button on your controllerwhich I can configure very well by creating quick access to Stremio, the application that I use the most.
On the other hand and taking into account the fact that I have a more or less smart house With a smart air fryer, smart lighting, smart plugs or a vacuum cleaner with connectivity, I think in the future I will be able to take advantage of the compatibility with the Matter standard and the integrated Thread border router.
