I tried the Amazon router which supports more than two hundred devices connected at the same time

From a distance, there are years when in Europe, it was normal to have two or three devices connected to the Internet in our homes. At the beginning of the century, connections came from computers and mainly by cable. Later, laptops began to implement WiFi. And then The smartphones arrived and we had several connected devices.

It was always rare to reach the dozen, even if 3 or 4 people lived in a house. But currently It is not uncommon to see houses in which two people live and there are more than 20 or 30 connected devicesLike devices, televisions, mobiles, security cameras, sensors, etc.

This is why it is common for many users to improve their router since The one given by operators, although fully usable does not always allow us or do not connect everything we want Nor tighten the maximum contracted speed. Companies such as Google or Amazon, in addition to others, offer connection systems of different categories.

Analxy Eero Pro 7

Alvarez del Vayo

The last proposal of the company founded by Jeff Bezos was announced a few weeks ago with two members, the EERO 7 and the Eero Pro 7. The Eero Pro 7 is available for 349.99 dollars (one unit) and 799.99 dollars (three units) on the Amazon website. If we do not want to spend as much, we also have the EERO 7 for 199.99 dollars (one unit) and 399.99 dollars (three units). These models are currently an answer to the Nest WiFi Pro from Google, which already has a few years.

These devices cover a fairly large surface. A single unit covers up to 190 square meters and more than 200 aircraft, As well as a set of three units up to 560 square meters and more than 600 aircraft. Of course, as it always happens in these cases, the distribution of housing, building materials, holes, etc. is important.

EERO PRO 7

The one who for the moment is the best Amazon router It can be used as a normal router, connected to fiber optics, or as a link from our operator routerCreation of a second Wi -Fi network with maximum speed. East Compatible with internet rates up to 5 GB / s, and includes two GBE ports and speeds due to wireless connection up to 3.9 GB / s.

Thanks to the WiFi 7 connection, it is able to reach higher speeds than other routers. Of course, we will need a compatible mobile. We used a Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra for Speed Tests because its processor, Snapdragon 8 Elite, includes Wi -fi 7.

The use of this device is free, but Amazon has an optional monthly subscription, called Eero Plus, with which advanced security functions, advertising block, parental control, malware, password, VPN with Guardian and more technology are obtained. At a price of $ 9.99 per month (around 9.19 dollars) or $ 99.90 per year (around 91.90 dollars).

This device, in addition to being an advanced router and can amplify its scope via a network of mesh with other EERO, whether in this category or others, It also works as a controller Home for material, thread and zigbee devices. This means that Alexa connected devices with it can work more efficiently and quickly.

Other functions are Truemesh, which automatically transports the data through the quickest route on the network; Trueroam; which allows you to modify the connection with the different routers if we have several EERO for the house or Truechannel, which automatically selects the most suitable channel for a device.

Connection speeds

We carried out a series of tests using the Galaxy S25 with WiFi 7 To see to what extent the performance of this EERO 7 Pro could go.

GROUND FLOOR

In this plant, there are day stays, such as living room or kitchen, as well as one of the offices. The performance of this device is greater than both in the room, with a higher speed, as well as in the office. With curiosity, In the kitchen, it does not exceed the operator routerAlthough this does not give a bad experience, especially because even where we see streaming series, we put music, we use mobiles for recipe videos, etc.

Living room
Operator router: 550/520 Mbps
Eero Pro 7: 620/680 Mbps

Order 2
Operator router: 270/190 Mbps
Eero Pro 7: 320/350 Mbps

Cocina
Operator router: 410/260 Mbps
Eero Pro 7: 360/320 Mbps

First floor

On the first floor both in the main office and in the master bedroom, once again, Eero 7 Pro exceeds the Digi router, but In the guest room, they attach at the download speed and lose. It's curious because this room is just above the kitchen, so it seems that it is the structure of the house that penalizes the Eero.

Shipping
Operator router: 220/120 Mbps
Eero Pro 7: 340/220 Mbps

Master bedroom
Operator router: 290/290 Mbps
Eero Pro 7: 450/220 Mbps

Guest room
Operator router: 170/98 Mbps
Eero Pro 7: 170/77 Mbps

Second floor

On the top floor, the speeds drop a lot, as it is normal, but the result is much higher with the Amazon product, so much so that it multiplies the descent of two and the rise of five.

Study
Operator router: 7/13 Mbps
Eero Pro 7: 16/71 Mbps

Excellent application

All EERO functions are checked from their own application. There, we can see the state of the router at any time, make a Speed test, see opinions if there is something that does not work, or check which peripherals are connected Al router.

In a very simple way, we can Create a guest networkpreventing an external device from creating problems. In this way, it is possible to help those who return home or are in an office to have better speed, without compromising security.

At the bottom of the application, we can check the condition of each of the devices we have, able to Even a profile. This is designed to manage parental commands of minor devices, because we can create profiles with limited use by access, schedules, etc.

It is also possible to control the use of dataBoth from top to bottom, as well as to hire Eero Plus directly if we want to have this monthly subscription. The application has a clean interface and is simple to use, despite many options available.

I buy it?

Amazon knows that this product is not intended for a massive audience, and less the pro model that we have analyzed. It is able to offer impressive speeds and maintain network stability in a fairly correct way. It's striking to see how Near the router, we obtain wireless speeds above those we have hiredwhich in our case is 600 at the top and 600 down.

This product It is recommended for those who will benefit not only from WiFi 7 connectivity, but also those who appreciate having strong integration with home automationWith products such as Amazon speakers, matter and zigbee devices, etc. The price is high, but it is also a product that will last us for many years and which will improve our experience when we use the Internet at home. In one of the dozens of connected devices.
