The battery of our Android mobile phone and its more than necessary daily charges are the subject of some concern, especially if we suffer from autonomy problems and do not reach the end of the day. It is therefore essential to take care of the battery with four tips that will allow you to extend its life while using it. By plugging it in to fill itwhich you will probably do at night, certain precautions should be taken to delay its deterioration.
Now, did you know that the order in which you plug in the cable and charger can also cause damage to your Android device
Here’s how to charge your cell phone to minimize risks
Every time we talk about charge our Android mobile or any other smart device, we recommend opting for certified cables and chargers, in case we do not have the official solution from the manufacturer. Normally the latter solution is the most recommended, but there are other factors that we must take into account.
One of them is the loading order, that is, what do we connect first. This may seem trivial and unimportant, although we think that we are totally far from the truth: there are differences depending on the order in which we connect the accessories (cable and charger, basically).
What is the “right” way to do this? Well, the ideal would be first attach the charging cable to the mobile, instead of plugging it into the charger. Thus, we could avoid these small sparks generated by positive and negative voltages.
The sparks mentioned above may not cause any damage, but it is true that they can cause oxidation and corrosion in the cable’s connectors – they are more obvious in an Apple Lightning cable than in the USB-C we have on Android – which causes charging to stop, or in a certain position.
Not only does this prevent us from doing so, but, on the other hand, it will allow that in the event of a specific failure such as a defective charger or current surgeplease do not damage our mobile devices.
As a summary in a list, this would be the procedure most recommended:
- Plug your charger into the mains. Preferably an original charger certified or meeting certain quality standards.
- Then connect the charging cable to your Android smartphone.
- Finally, simply connect the other end of the cable to the charger’s USB port. And ready.
