IKEA introduces VINDSTYRKA, a Matter-enabled air quality sensor

There are currently a large number of home automation accessories. From bathroom water analyzers, through the adjustable lights of our devices or the activated and automatic sprinklers. A large number of companies joined forces to generate a standard for home automation that would allow compatibility between operating systems and products, and the result was Matter, a standard supported by iOS and iPadOS. A few hours ago we discovered a new IKEA product compatible with the Matter standard that allows us to analyze the air quality in our house: VINDSTYRKA.

As we said, Matter is a new state-of-the-art home automation standard which was designed with the aim of allowing smart devices of different brands and manufacturers to communicate securely and seamlessly. Some of the companies involved are Apple, Google or Amazon to be among the most important in terms of operating systems and associated accessories.

The purpose of accessories is therefore integrate into the Matter standard to bring synchronization and compatibility to every home in the world. Ikea is one of the most important companies that is starting to introduce affordable home automation devices of relatively remarkable quality and gradually integrating into the standards we have talked about.

The sensor is not supported by Matter alone, but via the IKEA DIRIGERA hub.

which are those airborne particles that have a diameter of less than 2.5 microns and are harmful to health. Also shown information on temperature, humidity and volatile organic compounds, which allow us to analyze the quality of the air breathed in our home.
