Mark Gurman hasn’t been shy about describing what he thinks we’ll see at WWDC 2023, even if it means dropping clues that directly clash with what other reliable sources like Ming-Chi Kuo have said. . One of the key pieces of data he gave in the Sunday Power On newsletter goes straight to the Apple Watch.
The Bloomberg editor says that for the first time in several years, we will see some interesting things on the Apple Watch. But not since the news that the Apple Watch Series 9 may bring, if not for notable changes in watchOS 10
A new interface for watchOS?
Apparently, inside sources in contact with Gurman said the Apple Watch Series 9 won’t bring too many new features, it will only be an incremental update like the Apple Watch Series 8 was compared to its predecessor. .
What will be interesting will be watchOS 10, which would be “a reasonably extensive update” in terms of UI
While there are no specifics and while this piques my interest in the changes we may have in the way we use Apple Watch, it also makes me fearful for a possible cut of compatible models with this future watchOS 10. An interface change may cause models like Series 4 or Series 5 to fall behind, although no one has spoken about it yet.
For now we will continue to wait: everything will become clear on June 5, the day when we will see the opening speech from WWDC and Apple will confirm iOS 17, iPadOS 17, macOS 14 and tvOS 17 in addition to watchOS 10.
