Although Facebook isn’t going through its best time, the app continues to incorporate new features, like the ability to create your own custom avatar. But if there’s one thing the company is focused on, it’s stopping the unstoppable rise of Tik Tok. We have seen for years how Mark Zuckerberg has been trying by all means to clone the most advanced functions of the Chinese social network. An application has even been created for this.
Since that failed, what Meta did is boost Instagram Reels, the app’s answer to Tik Tok. Now those same consumer vertical videos are coming to Facebook.
Reels are coming to Facebook
After testing in the United States in Meta, they decided to implement Reels within Facebook in more than 150 countries, including Europe.
Knowing that the video is the most consumed element on Facebook (it represents half of the time that its users spend on it), it is normal that they want to promote it by inserting the Reels that we already see on Instagram .
Besides, there will be advertisements inside, in the form of videos and overlapping banners, to give creators the opportunity to earn money from these videos, which is not possible on TikTok. Before, you could only make money in Reels with the rewards program for creators from Facebook itself, which is not available in Europe.
Another way to make money will be with the stars, virtual items that users buy simply to financially support the creators they follow.
coils everywhere
Facebook’s bet will be capitalized since it will put these videos in the stories, in the Watch tab, at the top of the Feed, etc.
We don’t know how the new integration will work, but given the success of short videos on other platforms, like Instagram itself, it’s no wonder Facebook wants a piece of the pie.
