Apple has just released the first beta version of iOS 17.3 just a day after the release of iOS 17.2. The third major update of iOS 17 is already in the works and is expected to arrive in early 2024, likely with many important new features, some of which have been officially delayed until next year.

One of the new features introduced by iOS 17.3 is built-in protection against stolen devices which limits access to your private information in case someone obtains both your iPhone and your password. When enabled, it requires identity verification using Face ID or Touch ID to do things like access passwords in iCloud Keychain, turn off Lost Mode, or make purchases through Safari with payment information saved.
How to download iOS 17.3 beta 1 on your iPhone
Apple changed the way you download and install new iOS 17 beta updates. Now, any user can download and install a developer beta version of iOS 17 on their iPhone, as well as public versions. There is no need to be a developer or make any type of payment. The process is free and very simple.
- Sync your Apple ID with the Apple Beta Developer Program.
- Open the Settings app on your iPhone.
- Go to the General section.
- And now enter the Software Update section.
- Wait a few seconds and click Beta Updates.
- Select iOS 17 Developer Beta.
- Go back and you will be able to download and install the beta version.
- Go back and a new option will appear to download and install the iOS 17.2 beta on your iPhone.
