as big as ever
The first iPhone with a 6.7″ display was the iPhone 12 Pro Max 2020. The iPhone 14 Pro Max is roughly the same size as the 12 Pro Max, as is the iPhone 13 Pro Max that it It is 161mm high, 78mm wide and 8mm deep.
The iPhone 14 Pro Max weighs the same as the 13 Pro Max, weighing 240 grams. It’s a heavy phone that fits in the hand, which some people (like me) prefer. Pockets need to be deeper for this phone to fit securely.

One reason someone might want a phone as big as the 14 Pro Max is because it packs a big battery, the biggest in the iPhone lineup. The iPhone 14 Pro Max has a 4,323 mAh battery, which is actually less than the 4,352 mAh of the iPhone 13 Pro Max.
But that difference between the newer and older Pro Max phones means nothing. The iPhone 14 Pro Max battery lasted 12 hours and 40 minutes (about an hour longer than the iPhone 13 Pro Max) when we put it to the Geekbench 4 battery test.
In contrast, the iPhone 14 Pro Max lasted 3 hours and 43 minutes longer than the iPhone 14 Pro, or 30% longer with a 35% larger battery than the smaller iPhone 14 Pro model.
Geekbench 4’s battery test is very demanding, performing a mix of CPU and GPU intensive tasks, so our results do not match what Apple claims, which promises 29 hours of video playback, 25 hours of video playback in diffusion
We set the iPhone brightness to 200 nits and turned off auto-brightness and True Tone. This ignores the always-on display, which only lights up when the screen dims. Adding that to the equation, battery life is pretty much the same as the iPhone 13 Pro, which isn’t bad at all.
However, if battery life is your main reason for choosing a big iPhone, Apple has another iPhone soon, the iPhone 14 Plus, and it might outperform the 14 Pro Max.
The 14 Plus is a 6.7-inch phone and is said to have the same 4,325mAh battery as the Pro Max. However, the 14 Plus lacks features like ProMotion and always-on display, and it also has less brightness. .
These factors could affect the battery performance of the iPhone 14 Plus, and we’ll have to test the battery when it’s released to see how it compares to the iPhone 14 Pro Max.
The iPhone 14 Pro Max has the same fast charging via the included USB-C to Lightning cable and a 20W charger. Apple’s 20W USB-C power adapter costs $25 / MXN$549 and works well, but we recommend that you opt for a cheaper adapter and/or a smaller third-party adapter and/or with additional ports (in Europe or Mexico).
