Sonny Dickson, a tech critic with a pretty good track record when it comes to iPhone design leaks, just posted an image on
The image (above) shows what are almost certainly mockups of all four models: the 6.9- and 6.3-inch iPhone 16 Pro and the 6.7- and 6.1-inch iPhone 16 . Non-Pro models have their cameras aligned vertically rather than diagonally. There is a pink one.
The main takeaway is that Apple will differentiate the Pro models with slightly larger screens, as rumored. It’s hard to say for sure, but in the image the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max appear to be slightly larger than the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus companions, but it’s hard to tell with certainty. Apple is sure to create additional screen space by reducing the bezels as well.
He followed the post with a closer image of the pink iPhone 16, which gives a better look at the cameras. Apple has shrunk the camera array on the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus to a small oval rather than the large square of previous generations. The cameras are also arranged vertically rather than diagonally.
@SonnyDickson
That’s really all there is to it. If accurate, it shows that Apple has slightly changed the way the cameras are arranged on the iPhone 16 (non-Pro) models. This is certainly only a minor change from recent iPhone designs: there’s no Pixel-style “camera bar,” or cameras aligned on the back of the phone’s body, nor anything else that might make a significant difference to the design or use of the iPhone. But it would be the first visual change to the iPhone’s cameras in several years.
But if you were hoping Apple would overhaul the iPhone design this year, prepare for disappointment. They still look like iPhones.
