The 2021 IPPAWARDS, better known as the iPhone Photography Awards, recognize the best photos taken with an iPhone or iPad. In this edition, the best photo of the year was taken with an iPhone 7. A model who has been behind him for almost five years, showing that he still has a lot to say on the photographic level.
IPhone 7 as winner of IPPAWARDS 2021
The winning photographers of this 2021 edition are already available for consultation. The winner of the Grand Prix is the Hungarian Istvan Kerekes, with the cover photo. We see shepherds of Transylvania, Romania, each holding two lambs. They are in a frozen wasteland with several factories in the distance and a power line to the right, playing on the contrast between the traditional and the modern.
The most striking thing about this photo is not the frame, but the iPhone with which it is taken. Kerekes used an iPhone 7 to capture the scene, an iPhone that will be five years old in September.
Next are Sharan Shetty from India, Dan Liu from China and Jeff Rayner from the United States. Each used an iPhone X, an iPhone 11 Pro Max and an iPhone X respectively. Again, equipment that is not the latest model.
IPPA prices are open to all users. Participants can submit between 1 and 50 photos for their submission, at a cost of between $ 5.50 and $ 135.50. Photos must be unpublished (without having been published on social networks for example) and taken with an iPhone or iPad without being altered by office programs such as Photoshop.
