The new version of Samsung’s custom skin, One UI 6.1, is packed with interesting changes that go beyond anything the company’s new artificial intelligence, Galaxy AI, can do. A 6.1 user interface is, overall, a more polished layerwith Control Center improvements and quick settings, among others.
Furthermore, One UI 6.1 also offers visual innovations for the user interface. One of them is the possibility of configuring a wallpaper for the Always On screen, to have a look more interesting next to widgets and clock. And another change, a little hidden, is the possibility of using an image as wallpaper for waking up.
How to set a wallpaper on your Samsung Galaxy alarm clock with One UI 6.1
By default, the alarm clock on Samsung Galaxy phones displays an almost single-color background, with a certain gradient, when it rings. It is so in One UI 6.1 and One UI 6.0 and older versions of Samsung’s custom layer.
But on phones equipped with One UI 6.1, Samsung has integrated the ability to use the image you want as wallpaper for waking up, including images created with Samsung’s artificial intelligence, Galaxy AI. This option goes completely unnoticed until you explore the watch app’s settings menu.
To use an image as wallpaper on your alarm clock, simply follow these steps:
- Open it clock app and tap the three-dot button on the right side of the screen
- Choose Settings
- Now click on “alarm background»
- Finally, select an image from your gallery (or one of Samsung’s own images)
From now on, every time the alarm rings on your mobile, you will be able to see, by yawning and squinting, the wallpaper you have set. It occurs to me to choose a photo of my pet or a movie that I really like, to try to wake up in a better mood when the alarm goes off very early in the morning.
This feature is available in One UI 6.1, which means it is currently only available on the new Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24+, and Galaxy S24 Ultra. However, other Samsung Galaxy phones and tablets will receive the update to One UI 6.1 in the first half of the year, so this and many more new features They will reach more devices.
