More than 100 Xiaomi, Redmi and POCO phones expected to be delivered updated with the new operating system of the Asian company, HyperOSbased on Android 14. However, it has been announced that even more devices will receive the new system, only it will be an update based on an older version of Android.
In other words, many phones will receive the version of HyperOS based on Android 14, but older devices will be updated to a version of HyperOS based on Android 13
These are the first 5 phones that will receive HyperOS with Android 13
Xiaomi has already started updating mobile phones to its new operating system, HyperOS, and even some models like the new POCO X6 Pro have already debuted with HyperOS installed from the factory. More than 100 devices will be updated, all relatively new and modern versions of the three brands associated with the company.
But according to information revealed by Gizmochina, the company would like to bring its new operating system to more devices, even if they are older. However, these devices should pay the price of not having the latest version of Androidbut rather the version of HyperOS based on Android 13.
The first older models to receive this version of HyperOS are:
- POCO F3
- Xiaomi 12X
- Xiaomi Mi 11X
- Redmi Note 12 Pro 4G
- Redmi K40
HyperOS is a more complete operating system and not just a custom layer on Android. Xiaomi’s system is built on the Linux kernel by adding Android libraries as well as elements of Xiaomi’s Vela operating system.
The fact that for some models Xiaomi has opted for a version of HyperOS based on Android 13 should not surprise us, since some versions of MIUI, the custom layer that the company used before its new system, have also arrived on the base from previous versions of Android.
It has not yet been confirmed when these devices will be updated, nor has it been confirmed which other models will receive the Android 13-based version of HyperOS.
