The Pixel range shows the Mountain View giant’s efforts in phone design. This year was another step on the road for Google by introducing the Pixel 6a, Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro, phones that lived up to expectations. But, the machinery does not seem to stop and the roadmap has leaked of the next Pixel models.
Google wants to look like Apple and its iPhones, the leak tells us the tech giant wants to offer an additional variant of its Pixel phones. This information only confirms that in addition to expanding in the future, We will have more phones to choose from if we want to enjoy one of the best experiences on Android.
The Pixel 8 series won’t get too many changes
We start with the leaks for next year which is about to arrive. In 2023, The Pixel will receive models similar to those of 2022 counting on a few extras like the Pixel Fold. Moving forward is the Pixel 7a whose series name is “lynx” and will be showcased with the foldable Google in the upcoming I/O 2023.
The Google Developer Event will take place between the months of April and May 2023 and will be the perfect platform to preview new products. Expected a strong emphasis on folding of the company which will be accompanied by improvements in the software.
By the end of the year, as usual, the next series, the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro, will be launched. As confirmed by Android Authority, these upcoming models They will not change much to their predecessors..
In 2024, Google mobiles will have new guests
The roadmap shows a year 2024 which will start with the economic model. The Pixel 8a is almost a reality and is codenamed “akita”. However, the leak suggests that the launch of the 8a will largely depend on the sales of the 2023 model. It seems that Google is considering releasing a Model A every two years.
In this sense, Google risks “copying” the strategy of Apple, which launches its iPhone SE every two years. Additionally, the source confirms that the supposed Pixel 8a would see its price increasebeing less economical.
Regarding the Pixel 9, these will be launched in the fall of the same year. Google’s approach to Apple’s launch policy won’t just stay in the Pixel A and that’s that the Pixel 9 range will welcome up to three new members. The first will be the Pixel 9 with a standard size as in previous models, however, there will be two Pixel 9 Pro with different dimensions. Google wants to bring the most premium specs down to the size of the base model, while a second Pro model will come in at 6.7 inches.
Google would thus follow the same path as Apple with a basic model and two premium models of different sizes. Something like what happens with the iPhone 14, 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max. The three models would ship the Tensor G4 processor whose secret name is “round”. To these would be added the next generation of folding whose code name seems to be “felix”.
A year 2025 marked by the success of the previous ones
Although there is still plenty of time until 2025, Google has already thought that it will use the results of the previous year to modify or maintain its strategy. If the bends are not successful, I would throw them away and present up to four Pixels that year.
Intend would be to apply the same formula of a double Pro version, but in the base model. This would make the 2025 Pixel series have double the number of members compared to today. So we will receive a Pixel 10, a Pixel 10 with a larger screen size, a Pixel 10 Pro and its version with a maximized screen.
The Mountain View Company wants to expand its phone series over the next few years, giving a little twist to its traditional strategy. The Google Pixel will be more in the future, but for now we have to wait for another interesting new year to come in this world of mobile phones.
