Apple is testing larger, sharper screens for its iPads

Apple is working hard, but the OLED-screen iPad is still waiting
From The Elec they also revealed details on what LG’s design could offer for the screen of a future iPad Pro:
“Apple plans to apply a two-stack tandem structure for the OLED panels it will use for future iPad models. (…) Cupertino also plans to apply polycrystalline oxide thin-film transistors (TFTs) to low temperature (LTPO) in these panels.
“Dual-stack tandem OLED panels have two emitting layers instead of one used in single-stack OLED panels. This allows these panels to have twice the brightness and four times the life of single-battery OLED panels.”
For years, various reports have suggested that Apple has been testing larger screens for its tablets. And we think we could be for a 12.9-inch iPad that is not a Pro model and so offer two versions of iPad with OLED screen.
