The Android developer community brings us more surprises every day. Following the recent official release of Android 13 for supported devices, developers it only took a few hours to launch the first ROMs of Android 13 for devices not compatible with Google Pixel. More precisely two days later, it will be possible to install Android 13 on certain Motorola and OnePlus models.
This is great news that comes thanks to downloading the source code of this new Android version in AOSP. This way you get have an update unofficiallyand keeping in mind that it may not work properly or suffer from performance issues.
Downloading ROMs is possible for Motorola and OnePlus
The first ROM developed is for the Motorola Moto G40 Fusion and G60. In this case, most functions are fully integrated and you can even enjoy some of the benefits that were specifically for the Google Pixel. These include wallpapers, icons and also fonts.
From the development page they remember that to perform the installation you must access the XDA-Developers page with the Moto G60 or Moto G40 Fusion. In this case, the possibility of do all the steps carefully so that there is no problem, and always making the corresponding backup beforehand.
On a second point, Robertogl development has developed a ROM for the OnePlus 5 and OnePlus 5T. In this case, the developer relied in a modular device tree that does not interfere with the AOSP codebase. To install it, you will need to access the XDA developer website where AOSP 13.0 is stored for these two devices.
It was possible to determine that in both cases the ROMs are quite stable and natively include the SELinux application. But this does not mean that in the future errors may appear that were not detected initially. This is why it is your entire responsibility to install these two devices, which must not be the main device in any case.
