The Android gaming business is getting serious. Although we’ve seen plenty of products aimed at gamers, such as controllers or game consoles, so far there’s been no device that really puts Android on par with other platforms.

Logitech aims to change that. Not too long ago, the accessories maker struck a deal with Chinese giant Tencent to develop a console, and it didn’t take long to see the first images of the device.
This will be the Logitech Android Console
The Logitech G Gaming will be a portable console based on Android and therefore will allow us to run the applications and games designed for the operating system. We already knew it but now, thanks to the images published by Evan Blasswe also know that the console will be designed to enjoy games in the cloud, the so-called “cloud gaming”.
Indeed, one of the images published allows us to take a look at the interface of the device, and it is obvious that it has been developed exclusively for G Gaming, taking advantage of the integrated controls. This is perhaps the real point in favor of this console over other bets, since it seems that Logitech will allow great integration of all video game platforms.
In the image we see direct access not only to the Play Store, confirming access to games from the official Google store, but also to Xbox Cloud Gaming, Nvidia GeForce Now and even Steam; although it is not clear if in the latter case we could play or if it will only serve as access to the official Steam application. Either way, the presence of the Google Chrome and YouTube icons are also striking, implying that Logitech wants us to use the console as a media player and for surfing the internet.
As for the console itself, it looks a lot like other Android consoles, with built-in controls that take inspiration from traditional consoles. In fact, the design reminds us of the Steam Deck, saving distances.
While Logitech hasn’t confirmed what hardware it will be using, the lack of cooling slots tells us it won’t be a PC processor like the one in Valve’s console; instead it is expected to use a Snapdragon G3x, developed by Qualcomm precisely with consoles in mind.
