For this article, I used the StreamCam as a camera with the intention of observing details that a face seen up close doesn’t always offer. As we can see, the images are surprisingly sharp. The room lighting is generous, but I tested this device almost in the dark and its performance is still amazing.

I want to highlight here the automatic white balance, which is essential so that the images do not have a tone that is neither too saturated nor too cold or hot, which happens too often with other cameras. It is also important to talk about the speed of 60 fps. It is true that a video call is not, in general, a shot with a lot of movement, but if you get up to write on a whiteboard, for example, you can be sure that the fluidity of the image is complete.
As the saying goes, taste the colors. In Logitech, they clearly know the expression, because from the application that accompanies the camera we can adjust all the variables of the image that the StreamCam provides us. From increasing the brightness, contrast, to changing the tone, we can perform all of these steps from the app. It is important to note that once the settings are made these will be transferred to the camera, so using this in any app we will enjoy the image exactly as we want it to.

Finally a brief mention of the microphone. Keep in mind that this is not a dedicated microphone. Having said that the quality of a video call or meeting is more than sufficient. In some cases better than the built-in microphones on some Macs and almost on par with what AirPods can offer. If what we want is quality so that we can record a podcast or stream on Twitch, we’ll probably want to go for something more specific, but if not we’ll take advantage of a microphone. quality hands-free with which to capture sound.
