Google is developing several applications to improve the lives of those who have difficulty with technology, such as the Look to Speak application: with it everyone you can talk on the phone just using your sight. This accessibility app offered its functionality in multiple languages, but it is only now that Google has introduced Spanish. It can now be downloaded updated.
The phone is very easy to use for someone who doesn’t have speech, hearing or touching difficulties, but it can become a major obstacle for those who need to communicate with others the most. Luckily, operating systems are more and more accessible
Look to Speak: speak just by looking at your phone
Google developed the app for facilitate conversation for those who have difficulty speaking and also having difficulty moving. The idea is that the front camera of the phone detects the user’s gaze so that they can select predefined phrases with which to communicate. All without touching the mobile at any time and without any type of interaction other than looking.
Look to Speak is as its name suggests: just look at your mobile to make it speak. Besides, Google has revamped the language catalog to include the always welcome Spanish: it is now possible to use the tool in our mother tongue.
The app offers two columns with selected words and phrases oriented left or right. Look to Speak will narrow the selection based on eye movement
Look to Speak does not require excessive learning, is easy to use, and can be very useful for those who are immobilized, for example. It’s not as powerful as Talk-style apps that use the eye tracking to assemble words letter by letter, but it allows basic communication without undue complication.
The Google app is available in the Play Store with the Spanish language already included. It is suitable for Android 8 and above.
