It may not be as useful as it was in early Android or as popular, but root access still holds its own in the more advanced user community. And there is no tool more popular than Magisk: the manager module is the Swiss army knife of rooted mobiles. And it’s just been updated after nine months of the previous version: Magisk 26 is now available for download, first in public beta.
Google used to start root, but it hasn’t disappeared from Android phones: John Wu is one of the main people involved in preventing this from happening. Creator of the famous Magisk, this tool has evolved from its ability to hide application admin access to the full module manager and root it currently is. Do you also have Magisk on your Android? Well, it’s time to update it.
Magisk 26 beta now available

Update to Magisk 26
John Wu keeps Magisk perfectly up to date, his tool has adapted to Google’s setbacks to evolve accordingly. Version 25 appeared publicly in June 2022; For what I was playing a good Magisk soda. This time has come.
As reported on Magisk’s GitHub and posted by John Wu at your Twitter account, version 26 is now ready for download. It can also be updated directly from the tool: if you have Magisk 25 installed on your mobile with root The update will appear directly so you can comfortably perform the process. Of course, we have to consider one aspect: due to the new SELinux implementation, those flashing Magisk 26 and above from a custom recovery will need to complete the installation from within the Magisk app. The process of installing from recovery is no longer complete.
Among the most important novelties of Magisk 26, in addition to the obligation to complete the process from the Android application on the rooted mobile, are:
- Magisk drops support for Android 6 Marshmallow. The developers have notable issues with this version of Android, so its compatibility has been removed.
- Better module support. Magisk 26 renews Magic Mount, the feature that allows installed modules to modify the partitions of the phone, improve its non-detection and allow it to work with the different layers of Android.
- Updated Zygisk API to version 4. John Wu extensively overhauled the implementation to better support the API.
The Magisk update to version 26 is a demonstration that advanced Android usage is not only alive, but also It is always versatile and very useful depending on the uses. And it does so despite Google’s efforts to reduce root access: long live Magisk.
