Hey, it's Friday! If you intend to do it, I don't know, maybe hang out at the bar (or pubFor Ukers) or something like that with a bunch of friends who love PC, well, you will have something to say tonight. Microsoft has pulled a salvo on Apple in the form of a video short film which claims that the “Top Copilot + PC” are faster than the beloved macbook. You can lose 12 seconds of your life by looking at it below.
(I'm going to give you a moment to wipe the spit of your screen. Sorry on this subject, I should have warned you.) Aside from cheese production (“was this comic advertising announcement was made with Windows Movie Maker 2 and a 2003 5 MP camera?” M3 MacBook Air – You know, the laptop released in 2024 and replaced earlier this year by the M4 MacBook Air.
Thus, Air M3 is not in the Apple active product range. Certainly, you can buy the M3 MacBook Air from third -party retailers and in the Renovated Apple Renovated Store. But that doesn't look good when a company compares the “best” products to competitors who are no longer manufactured and have been replaced by something better.
The fact is that Microsoft also says that the “Top Copilot + PCS” is faster than the M4 MacBook Air – it is just on their website. But the results are nothing like the “up to 58%” praised in the announcement. Microsoft says that he recorded a Cinebench 2024 Multi-Fonde score of 866 for Air M4, and that eight Copilot + PCS “all have obtained a higher score”. So, let me take the opportunity to do what Microsoft did not want to show you: how fast these eight Copilot + PC are faster than the M4 MacBook Air (the multi-Fonde Cinebench 2024 score is in parentheses).
- Asus VivoBook S 14 with AMD Ryzen AI 9 365: 5.3% (912)
- Dell XPS 13 9345 with Snapdragon X Elite: 8.9% (943.3)
- HP Omnibook Ultra 14 AMD Ryzen AI 9 hx 375: 11.4% (965)
- Lenovo Yoga Slim 7x 14 ″ with Qualcomm Snapdragon X Elite: 18.9% (1029.6)
- Lenovo Yoga Slim 7x 14 ″ with Qualcomm Snapdragon X Elite 19.4% (1033.6)
- Lenovo Yoga Pro 7 with AMD Ryzen AI 9 365: 17.9% (1021.3)
- Microsoft 15 ″ laptop surface with snapdragon x elite: 9.7% (950)
- Microsoft Surface Laptop 13.8 ″ with Snapdragon X Elite: 2.7% (889.6)
Lenovo devices are the fastest in the group (I don't know why the Lenovo Yoga Slim 7x 14 ″ is tested twice; let me a line if you can fill me), but these improvements are not large enough to make an impression. Imagine this video, but instead, it is said: “Copilot + Top Copilot PCs are up to 19.4% faster than a MacBook Air with M4.” It will just give you a stupid look of Microsoft's marketing department. Heck, we here at igamesnews, let's see 15 to 25% of improvement from a chip from the M series to another, and our reaction to this is lukewarm. You can imagine what we think of a co -pilot + PC offering an increase of less than 20% compared to the M4 MacBook Air: PFFT. As with all the other PCs? You will not notice the difference at all.
We carried out the same Cinebench 2024 test and obtained a score of 797 for the M4 MacBook Air, so clearly the results may vary.
To summarize, for your PC-Lovin friends who want to evoke this announcement on a few pints:
- Your “Top Copilot + PCS” is “up to 58%” faster than an abandoned MacBook Air? Cool!
- The “Top Copilot + PCS” faster than the M4 MacBook Air? This can be true, but no one can notice the difference in the use of the real world. But hey, kind of you to catch up!
- The 12 -second announcement? Just another example of a company trying to refer to young people.
And if they still don't listen, don't forget that they should use windows.
