
A few minutes ago, the first generation of Apple Vision Pro, the Big Apple’s virtual reality glasses, began being sold in the United States. In recent months, we have seen the progress of visionOS, the glasses software, and developers have been able to prepare their applications for the imminent arrival of Vision Pro. Apple announced that as of today, on launch day, more than 600 apps are compatible with visionOS. This is a relatively large number given the geographic limitation of glasses, although it is clear that this number will continue to grow.

The advantage of the Apple Vision Pro with visionOS is that the creation limit is what developers can imagine. Apple defines this new experience as an infinite canvas in which developers can create and users can immerse themselves. More than 600 applications were created specifically to enjoy the benefits of glasses and More than a million apps are available on the App Store taking into account that they are compatible although they are not specifically designed for visionOS.

Apple wanted to give a brief overview of the main experiences that we can enjoy in the Vision Pro. If you like sport, you can experience the matches of the NBA from different cameras and with statistics; We can also see race maps in 3D with Red Bull TV; football with the MLS Season Pass; or cable TV apps: Charter Spectrum, Comcast Xfinity, Cox Contour, Sling TV and Verizon Fios, as well as the famous ESPN, CBS, Paramount+, NBC, NBC Sports, Peacock, FOX Sports and UFC.

Apple also gave a nod to entertainment with the announcement of Discovery Max, Disney+ and Max (the new HBO application) which will allow enjoy entertainment content with all the benefits of Apple Vision Pro. Remember that Netflix has not considered creating a specific application for visionOS, which we believe will change in the coming months. Furthermore, Apple TV is the icing on the cake with more than 200 films in 3D and encoded in Apple Immersive Video.

Applications for everyone: entertainment, productivity, games…
Finally, a specific chapter was also devoted to productivity apps. The entire Microsoft 365 package, Fantastical, Numerics, OmniFocus, OmniPlan and many others will be available. It should be noted that Keynote, Numbers and Pages do not yet have an official version, something that attracts a lot of attention.
