Sleep monitoring still doesn't reach Apple Watch naturally, Apple does not offer its app as it does in sports or other health features. Fortunately, there are many ways that a third party does the same job in addition to making good use of the Apple Watch data. One of these is the alternative NapBot, right now is the app I'm working on to monitor my dream.
If there is something that explains NapBot to me it is its simplicity. It is an app that focuses on something important, showing only the most relevant data to realize our dream. In fact the following:
- Bedtime: Sleep time and the percentage we set for ourselves.
- Sleep stages: It shows in percentage how much that dream is simple, deep or we are already awake.
- Environmental Sound: This is very interesting, thanks to the fact that now Apple Watch is constantly collecting organized audio, NapBot is collecting this data to show us what the average, maximum and minimum sounds were while we slept.
- Heart rate: It shows the average and highest discharge rate we had at bedtime.
Apart from this there is one thing that is important to me: styles. The concept is similar to the one that triggers the Apple Activity app trend. That is, it shows us whether we improve or not during sleep, heartbeat or noise among other things. We can see the tendency of day to day, week or month of the month and it is worth looking at what our current state of dream is. Of course the app also has a widget or notifications among other things.
Apple Watch Independence Program
With watchOS 6 independent apps that came to Apple Watch, this means being able to install them without installing the app on the iPhone. NapBot already has a separate app since the last update, so the user can work without accessing the phone.
The Apple Watch app has features for the iPhone app and successfully Problems of all kinds of spheres and Simple models like the iPhone app, so it's more fluid.
Overall, I think the great thing about this app is how simple it is. Do not be frustrated with all kinds of details and drawings that we do not understand or ignore eventually, which is exactly why I've never been used to AutoS sleep. With NapBot I just go every few days, look at my trends and quickly figure out what to improve or change.
NapBot can be downloaded for free from the App Store (or the Apple Watch App Store). Application it's free with some limited functions in Pro mode, which is open for 0.99 euros per month or 10.99 euros per year. In this mode you have access to styles and a great bedtime history. My advice is to give free mode a chance first.
