Apple knows it Notes app it is used more and more, and that is why it is adding more and more features to more complex software. Features like endorsements and labels that we’ll see when new operating systems launch in September are great initiatives, even if they come at a price.
As they detected in 9to5Mac thanks to some opinions of their readers, the notes in which we use this news they will not be visible in older versions of operating systems. We’ll need at least iOS 14.5, iPadOS 14.5, or macOS Big Sur 11.3.
Notes become more complex and this implies conditions
If we do not have these versions, the notes where we use the new features will not appear on our devices. We can continue to create and sync notes, but with the format we use today. As soon as we change it with a mention or label of an updated device, it will disappear from the rest of the terminals with old systems. We can continue to see the iCloud website note without any problem.
This limitation may change as the beta progresses: the company may decide to have a wider sleeve or else restrict compatibility further. Our advice, as always, is that update as long as stable versions are available for security and confidentiality reasons.
