Nothing is a company born in 2020 and has become in a very short time one of the most interesting in the world of mobile telephony, not only because of the striking and interesting design of your smartphones but also because of the speed with which they update their devices.
The company, founded by Carl Pei (one of the co-founders of OnePlus), has already started updating the Nothing Phone (2) to Android 14, just about two months after that operating system was launched by Google, thus being one of the fastest companies to update their devices to the latest version of Android. And this version comes with many new features.
This is what changes with the update to Nothing OS 2.5
Nothing OS 2.5 is the name of the Android 14-based system for the company’s mobile phones. The Nothing Phone (2), which arrived on the market in July this year, began to receive the update gradually, which means that Nothing OS 2.5 will be available in the coming days and weeks
And this version of the operating system is packed with new features for Nothing mobiles, including new widgets, improvements for device customization, new gestures for user experience and, finally, What’s new for the Glyph interfacethat is to say for the LEDs located on the back of the Phone (2), an emblematic element of the brand’s mobile phones.
These are the biggest changes coming to the phone (2) with Android 14

- It is now possible to access the timer of the Glyph interface from the lock screen without having to unlock the phone. Additionally, the timer adds support for preset durations.

To use the new Widgets, Nothing reminds that it is not only necessary to update the mobile phone to Nothing OS 2.5, but also the applications Nothing launcher and nothing widgets
Not only is this one of the most important software updates in the history of Nothing and its phones, but, as we mentioned at the beginning of this article, the update to Android 14 is coming in a big way faster than many other manufacturers. It is true that Nothing has a limited number of mobile phones in its portfolio, but still such a quick update is remarkable.
Although the Phone (2) is the company’s first mobile phone to be updated to Nothing OS 2.5 (Android 14), it won’t be the only one. The phone (1) will receive a OS 2.5 public beta At the end of this year, the new version of Android should therefore soon be available for the first mobile phone from the Pei company.
