With Nothing Ear (1), Nothing wanted to send a message to the public and the market, with an inexpensive product accessible to everyone but which presented the philosophy that all of the brand’s products would follow.
Nothing renews its headphones
That’s why today’s announcement from Nothing is more important than it seems; The company decided to make changes to its line of audio products, the first it launched, to make it more accessible and easier to understand.
To do this, Nothing decided to change the nomenclature of its devices, and will remove numbers from names. The next wireless headphones will therefore not be the Nothing Ear (3) as planned until now; The range of headphones will be simplified into a basic device and another a little more complete.
Nothing confirms that this year it will launch two devices from the Ear range: the new Nothing Ear and the new Nothing Ear (a). Although you might think that the “a” ones are the cheapest and the regular Ear ones are the “premium”, in reality the company says that its goal is to offer “premium” to everyone, regardless of whatever the price; and that the difference between devices will be a matter of preference of each user.
Removing model numbers also likely means that Nothing won’t rename the device every generation. The Nothing Ear will still be called that, whether a new generation comes out in a year or two; although it is possible that it will do like Apple and differentiate the models by generations or by year of release.
The new Nothing Ear is expected to be announced on April 18, when the company will prepare an announcement for its fan community. In addition to the headphones, there are also rumors about other devices from the brand, in addition to the CMF by Nothing sub-brand, although the company has not confirmed anything at the moment.
