One UI 7 hides a function that will help you choose the best WiFi networks without complications

Since we know what One UI 7 will look like thanks to the beta versions, we have been able to verify that it will bring many new features that even the brand itself has announced so that everyone is aware. But there are a few changes that haven't been made official and have gone a little unnoticed. One of these features is the ability of the new software to filter available WiFi networks.

Filter WiFi networks with One UI 7

One UI 7 allows filter operational WiFi networks by different properties. For example, if we want our Samsung Galaxy to only work with secure networks that it can detect, we must choose the “Secure” filter or if we need it to only connect to WiFi 6 networks, we can do so with its respective filter.

The available filters that can be used are:

  • Open
  • Insurance
  • 2GHz
  • 5GHz
  • 6GHz
  • Wi-Fi 5
  • WiFi 6
  • Wi-Fi 7

The way to access these filters when we have One UI 7 on our devices will first be to access the Settings from the phone and entering Relationships then go to Wi-Fi. Once inside we will do More options > Smart Wi-Fi. All that remains is to click on the version number of the Smart WiFi several times until the menu appears Connectivity Labs. This is when you need to activate the button Use filter in menu.

I thought a smartwatch had to have a lot of WiFi to work well. The Galaxy Watch proves me wrong

The filters that can be used will depend on the capabilities of each Samsung phone or tablet. This means that some do not have filters like 6 GHz, WiFi 6 or WiFi 7 because they are not compatible. Terminals like the Samsung Galaxy S24, the smartphone chosen to have the Beta versions of One UI 7, will be able to opt for all the available options.
