Spotify is still the most widely used app for streaming music from almost every country in the world. Its solid experience and the great multiplatform it has made the expansion of its service a success. However, there are many options available on the desktop app that are not available on the mobile version. This could soon change with a long-awaited novelty: the musical activity of our friends. Spotify prepares “Community” option for iOS and Android
The community will come to Spotify to check our friends’ activity
Our Friends’ Activity is a feature available for the Spotify desktop app on Windows and macOS. It is a sidebar in which we can see what are the songs that are played by our friends in addition to the playlists to which they belong. Years after integrating this function, Spotify added the hidden mode to avoid staying in this sidebar.
The music activity of our friends has always been a much sought after option for all users. However, Spotify has refused to include it in apps for Android and iOS for years. Until today. Apparently Spotify is developing a similar option called Community. We can therefore see it in this tweet from the journalist Chris Messina who had the honor of being able to have it in its application:
Ready? Here is my secret!
Spotify has a new community hub to see what your friends are listening to live and which playlists they recently updated.
I have no idea who Andrew Orona is. 😂

As one can see, In Community, we can access our friends’ activity as well as updates from public playlists. Next to each friend, what they are listening to and if they are currently listening is displayed via an animated equalizer on the right side of the screen. This feature will be a hit when Spotify releases it, that’s for sure.
