The truth is that there seems to be a resurgence of interest in video games on Android, especially with the arrival of new cloud services that allow us to play the latest titles without having to install them. The recently introduced Logitech G Cloud goes in that direction.

Now Razer could join the list. The brand with the three snakes is best known in the PC sector, where it has offered accessories and devices suitable for gamers for decades. On some occasions, he has also entered the mobile market, but his new project will undoubtedly be the most ambitious to date.
Razer’s new Android console
The new Razer Edge 5G is touted as perhaps the definitive Android console. Although there are still many details that we do not know, everything indicates that we are facing one of the most advanced devices to date in terms of the Android gaming sector.
The new Edge 5G, as the name suggests, would be the first handheld console with 5G connectivity, thanks to Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon G3X Gen 1 processor. This is extremely important as we are dealing with a device designed to run games in the cloud using platforms such as Xbox Cloud Gaming which also appears to be involved in the project in some way .
With 5G, we should be able to have the necessary bandwidth to be able to play anywhere, without having to be near a WiFi network. This will be a big advantage over the G Cloud, which doesn’t have any kind of cellular connectivity.
Additionally, Qualcomm’s new chip should ensure good performance in locally downloaded games. This chip supports 4K resolution screens, so in theory we could connect an external monitor or TV, although this has not yet been officially confirmed. Of course, we will have the necessary buttons and controls to enjoy it without problems; The first advance seems to indicate that the triggers will be progressive or adaptive, that is, they will have resistance at a certain point, which is ideal for shooters.

Otherwise, we don’t know much about the new device. It is clear that it will be in direct competition with portable consoles like the Nintendo Switch and the Steam Deck, especially if it demonstrates a good experience in cloud games, since in theory, one could play the same titles as the two others. To find out more, we will have to wait for Razer Con, the biggest Razer event of the year, which will be held on October 15.
