If there's one tool that I use every day without fail, it's Google's Quick Share. It first came to the Samsung Galaxy to later replace Nearby Share on the rest of the Android devices. Since then, it has been essential in my work, whether for send documents, images or any other file worthy of your mobile to your PC or vice versa.
Now the search giant continues to improve it step by step. Its last few updates have focused on bug fixes and performance improvements, but the most recent one has Important new features that improve user experience. If you still aren't using it, I encourage you to try it because it's better than ever.
Quick Sharing on Windows just keeps getting better. Now with new animations and an additional option
That Windows and Android users have a corresponding “AirDrop” is very good news: the tool already worked perfectly, and allows you to share all types of files, including internet links or WiFi credentials.
Even with good performance, it is likely to be improved like any other service or application: Google continues to work to improve it. As we read in 9to5Google, it has just been updated and unlike the last versions, this one brings a lot of juice.
What are your news? The Mountain View company reveals them on its support site:
- The Quick Share logo has been added to the entertainment applications.
- Added an option for change visibility settings from status bar icon.
- Fixed an issue where URLs were categorized as text rather than links.
- Fixed an issue that prevented the Quick Share shortcut from being created in the “All Apps” section of the Start menu after installing the app.
- Fixed an issue that caused a delay in launching the application after signing in to your Windows account.
As we can see, three of the changes are bug fixes, which are minor and demonstrate the importance of degree of maturity of the tool. Yes, I found the new option that allows you to select device visibility directly from the Quick Share icon in the Windows tray very useful.
In the same way, the aesthetic section improves greatly with the new animations: we see in the application logo that it has a “breathing” effect while waiting for shipments. Now it seems more stable, although I already said that it does not suffer from the problems that have been fixed.
In my opinion, will continue to be option number one to integrate my Android mobile to PC. There are alternatives for all tastes, but like this official one from Google, none. And it gets better and better, you just have to try it to see it. Although it cannot be matched in terms of functions to the “Mobile Link” tool, I have only used it for sharing files and Quick Share is more efficient in this regard.
