Gone are the days when we were happy with the keyboard that came with the computer, or the cheapest model we could find in the store. In total, they are all the same, right? Wrong, keyboards are more customizable and configurable than you might think.

It’s something that a lot of people are starting to realize, hence the fashion for customizable keyboards and the interest that brands like OnePlus have in getting into the sector. There is a lot of potential if you are ready to invest a little, as demonstrated by the latest model presented by Razer.
Razer’s most complete keyboard
The BlackWidow V4 Pro is the most feature-packed gaming keyboard Razer has released so far, and that’s saying something from a company that’s been investing in the gaming industry for decades. On its website, we can find keyboards of all sizes and flavors, but none like this, so far.
Almost everything you could think of is present here, starting with the fact that it’s a full keyboard with number keys (which are becoming less and less common). Of course, it has the typical volume wheel we’ve seen on other Razer keyboards before, as well as dedicated keys for controlling media playback.
More interesting is the left side, where we have five macro keys that we can configure in Razer Synapse to do anything we want, from launching programs to executing key combinations. Do they seem few to you? Look closely and you will see that you have three additional keys, hidden on the edge of the keyboard and which can be ideal for functions that we do not use as much or that we do not want to be “noticeable”.
The star of the BlackWidow V4 is the new “Command Dial”, located in the upper left part and which offers more possibilities, since it is possible to program it with no less than 100 personalized modes; As if it were the dial of a safe, it is possible to program different actions if it is turned clockwise or counterclockwise. By default, it comes with eight default modes, but we can choose from many more, such as changing the size of the Photoshop brush, scrolling our applications, etc. A light will indicate the mode you are in with the naked eye.
Speaking of lights, of course, this keyboard has RGB lighting, and it’s Razer’s most comprehensive, with individual per-key lighting that’s amplified by the transparent ‘switch’ housing. To this must be added a second lighting at the bottom of the keyboard with 38 independent zones.
The Razer BlackWidow V4 is available in Europe for 269.99 dollars. It comes with a magnetic wrist rest, detachable USB-C cable, and pouch.
