Originally, Razer was a company dedicated exclusively to products designed for computer gamers; Their first product is considered to be the first gaming mouse in history, the Boomslang.

Over time, Razer has expanded into more products and more niche markets, even launching desktop products and online services in recent years. But Razer’s identity as an “extreme” brand doesn’t seem to have been lost, judging by the news it showed at CES.
Razer’s Gamepad
The one that caught our attention the most is Project Carol, a product that, although it is only a “concept” for now, we hope will come to fruition like other crazy ideas like the Razer Zephyr mask that they launched in the middle of the pandemic.
Behind the name Project Carol hides… a cushion. But it’s not just any cushion, of course, it’s packed with technology to get us into games like never before. To begin with, on both sides of the cushion, there are two 7.1 surround sound speakerswhich are aimed directly at the ears and therefore must provide a brutal experience.
But that’s not all, the cushion itself also has haptic vibration integrated and synchronized with game sounds; To do this, it uses Razer HyperSense technology, which we have already seen in some of its headphones and which is able to generate vibrations that impact the body with sounds such as explosions and gunshots. Project Carol is designed for Razer chairs and connects to your computer via the same 2.4GHz USB adapter as other Razer devices.
The largest webcam
Although the production of Project Carol is not assured, other products presented by Razer are, and they are no less surprising. For example, Razer introduced the webcam with the largest sensor on the marketwith a pixel size of 2.9 microns.
In a market dominated by small webcams for laptops, it’s an outrage that promises to capture DSLR-sharp images thanks to its Sony STARVIS 2 sensor, while still being able to record in 4K resolution and 30 frames per second. It has a price, of course, in this case of 349.99 dollars, but at least it is a product that can already be purchased.
As we can also buy the new Razer Leviathan Pro soundbar, the first of its kind with beam technology that follows the user’s head to change the sound accordingly. Although many soundbars feature immersive 3D audio technology, this one promises to deliver a very different experience; it uses built-in infrared sensors to learn how the user is moving and modifies the sound using artificial intelligence so that it always seems to surround us.
The Leviathan Pro uses THX spatial audio technology, which is able to create “virtual headphones” around the user’s head, making positional audio possible, as well as “virtual speakers” that mimic multi-channel sound as if we had a home cinema. It is available for 489.99 dollars.
