A new report claims that Apple is gearing up to create its own “Appleverse” around its upcoming mixed reality headset.
Although Apple thinks the “metatarsus” is not something that goes with it, the truth is that they build their own. A kind of “Appleverse” that will be available with the long-awaited augmented reality and virtual reality glasses that the company prepares. At least, that’s what Mark Gurman thinks.
According to the famous journalist of Bloomberg in his last newscast, Apple is planning a 3D world and video service for its mixed reality glasses. He previously revealed the name of the device, Apple Reality Pro, so he seems to have some good information on the subject.
Apple Inc.’s next major product, a mixed reality device that it hopes will usher the company into a new era of computing, won’t arrive until next year. But job postings and personnel changes at the company provide insight into some of the device’s capabilities.
Apple is looking for workers to create its “Appleverse”
According to Gurman, many of the job offers offered by Apple right now, they’re tied directly to the new Mixed Reality Glasses. Apple wants to launch them with a whole “ecosystem” of services around them.
For example, the company is looking for a software producer with experience in visual effects and games who can create digital content for virtual and augmented reality environments. It also seeks to create a video service with 3D content which can be reproduced in virtual reality. And we also have job vacancies for engineers who can work in development tools oriented towards virtual and augmented reality
Some job postings indicate that Apple is stepping up its work to strengthen the content of the device.
There is a final work that specifically mentions the development of a 3D mixed reality worldsuggesting that Apple is working on a virtual environment similar to the “metaverse”maybe using the Memoji.
Apple glasses: summary of what we know
We already know a lot about Apple Glasses, even if it’s a device still under development and that we can’t understand right now. This is a review of everything we know about the device:
- They will have a high price, between 2,000 and 3,000 dollars.
- It will use a Mac level chip, probably an M2 chip.
- The glasses will have more than 10 cameras placed outside and inside the device.
- Inside we will have the highest resolution screens ever presented in a device of this type.
- The device will run a new operating system called realityOS, which will include mixed reality versions of major Apple apps such as Messages, FaceTime and Maps.
- Apple has trademarked the names “Reality Pro” and “Reality One”, suggesting that the company is choosing between these two brands for the device.
We are before a device that is all a mystery. Every now and then new information comes in, but there are also reports of a delay until 2024 or 2025, and that’s a lot. Sure, Apple is creating something big, but no one knows for sure when we’ll see it.
