While everyone is waiting to see how different the iPhone 17 range will be, an analyst with a decent assessment has a prediction for next year – not one, but two Apple folding devices.
Although we have already heard rumors according to which a folding phone is approaching the exit, GF Securities analyst Jeff Pu reports that Apple plans to launch an iPad folding 19 inch later next year. As 9To5mac pointed out, said that the so-called iPad fold will be launched alongside the folding iPhone next year.
This is somewhat contradictory with a report earlier this week by Mark Gurman de Bloomberg, in which he reported that 2027 would be the year Apple launched its first folding iPhone to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the iPhone, similar to the way Apple launched the iPhone X to mark the 10th anniversary.
According to PU, the folding phone will open to a 7.8 -inch screen, while the folding iPad will have a massive 18.8 -inch display. It is much larger than the largest tablet that Apple is currently offering, which is 13 inch. An iPad close to 19 inches fell on a device the size of the iPad Pro.
It looks like a rumor floated by Gurman last year, who wrote that Apple worked on “something similar to a giant iPad that unfolds in the size of two iPad pros side by side”. However, he said at the time that the aircraft would not be ready for the launch before 2028.
Whatever the report you choose to believe – for recording, Gurman has a better assessment than PU, but the two have had more precise forecasts than not – it seems that the first folding screens of Apple are in progress. Prepare your wallets.
