According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, Apple will hold its annual iPhone event on September 10th. That’s the second Tuesday in September and, historically, the most likely day. We think the likelihood of this report coming true is very high.
Apple will unveil the iPhone 16 lineup and the Apple Watch Series 10 and Ultra 3. As they have done for several years, the iPhones will be available for pre-order the following Friday, in this case September 13. The new iPhones will then be available the following week, on September 20.
According to Gurman, Apple will announce new AirPods alongside the expected iPhone and Apple Watch announcements. There will be two models: a new entry-level model with a new design and a new mid-range model that includes noise cancellation for the first time. You can think of them as replacements for the 2nd and 3rd generation AirPods in terms of marketing positioning.
The new AirPods Max, which are also rumored to be coming this year, are not mentioned in Gurman’s report. That product could be announced at an event in October where we believe Apple may announce the first M4 Macs.
