Samsung has already introduced the new generation of its most premium and powerful mobile phones, the Galaxy S25 Ultra, Galaxy S25+ and Galaxy S25. The new devices include a more advanced processor, more artificial intelligence features, and even changes to their design.
But the new Galaxy S25s are only part of Samsung's announcements and surprises at the Galaxy Unpacked 2025 event. The company also talked about its smart glasses and revealed to the world the new Galaxy S25 Edge, a mobile ultra thin. However, hidden in the presentation was another cell phone that we've heard rumors about in recent months: its first triple folding.
Samsung is working on its own tri-foldable mobile
Samsung is one of the pioneering companies in the development and marketing of foldable mobile phones. They are currently on their sixth generation of devices with this type of screen, with the Galaxy Z Fold6 and Galaxy Z Flip6 as the most recent models.
However, companies want to continue experimenting with different formats, leveraging screen technology. Samsung has already presented different prototypes at technological events such as the CES in Las Vegas and the MWC in Barcelona, but so far they have not launched a mobile phone with any other type of format other than the now classic “Flip” and “Fold”.
That's about to change. Samsung confirmed that it is developing a triple foldable mobilethat is to say a foldable mobile with two hinges. The confirmation came during the Galaxy Unpacked 2025 event, when the company was talking about its upcoming innovative projects, including new smart glasses. At this point you can clearly see a tri-fold mobile as part of the presentation.

This shouldn't surprise us since we recently heard rumors about Samsung's intention to launch a device with a folding screen and two hinges later this yearas well as the next generation of traditional foldable devices, i.e. Galaxy Z Fold7 and Galaxy Z Flip7. It is estimated that Samsung could initially manufacture around 200,000 units of this model.
Being a triple foldable mobile, this mobile could be transformed from a smartphone with a screen of traditional appearance and format, into a device with a screen of almost 10 inches, offering a tablet-like experience standard size.
Samsung is not the first company to launch a trifold mobile phone on the market, this position is already occupied by Huawei with its Mate XT. However, it is interesting to see how the offer of mobile phones in different formats continues to grow, especially when it comes to one of the leaders in foldable mobile phones like Samsung. We will have to wait for the company to officially present it to know the technical details of this device, and when it will go on sale.
