Design
When it comes to a mid-range mobile phone, the general trend in recent years is to maintain a continuous design line, at least for a few generations. In this comparison, we find an identical aesthetic, but with a jump in the quality of the materials. The Galaxy A35 changes the polycarbonate of the A34 for one glass back.
Another change, although less substantial, concerns the side button panel, in which the so-called “button island“, standing out from the rest of the frame. The color palette, for its part, remains the same, with 4 different shades.
Screen
On the screen, the new model has not changed its characteristics compared to its predecessor, with a Super AMOLED panel of 6.6 inches, Ful HD+ resolution and 120 Hz refresh rate. Yes, there is an improvement in brightness: 410 nits on the A34 compared to 880 nits on the A35. The new model works better in bright environments or if we are on the street in broad daylight.
The other change to highlight on the facade is the passage of a notch water drop type on the A34, to a front camera inserted in a screen with holes in the center of the A35, by increasing the screen ratio a little more.
Material
In another of the most important aspects of a mobile phone, performance, the difference we see is in the processor. It’s about the chip Exynos 1380 which, in addition to being more modern in the A35, comes from the new batch of processors signed Samsung, while in the A34 they have opted for the Dimensions 1080 the MediaTek.
As for RAM and storage, both models share the same configurations with the same capacity. The options can be 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB storage, or 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB storage, both cases with possibility of expansion using microSD cards.
Photographic section
Although these are not cell phones that rule the mobile market due to their specifications, anyone would like to have a good camera if the expense is around 400 dollars. In the passage from the A34 to the A35, we see a slight evolution in the new model, as it was probably one of the weakest sections of its predecessor, especially regarding low light situations.
The new A35 won’t be a standout model in this section either, but it does offer a triple main camera which keeps the A34 layout almost intact. At least it improves the resolution of the main sensor with an additional 2 megapixels (from 48 to 50), maintaining aperture and optical stabilization.
Also we go from a wide angle to an ultra wide angle to be able to widen the angle of view, even if the sensor of this lens remains with the same resolution, while the macro maintains the resolution of 5 MP (but increases the aperture, from f/2.4 to f/2, 2). At the front, the front camera also maintains the characteristics of the previous model, remaining at 13 MP and f/2.2.
Battery
Battery-wise, there is no difference between one model and another, so there would be no reason to buy the new model here. Both have a capacity of 5000mAh Yes fast charging at 25W. It’s not a fast charge that shines when compared to other options on the market, but its autonomy ensures that it lasts all day without problem.
Operating system
As for the operating system, a year later, it is logical that the A35 improves on what we saw in its predecessor. The first comes with A 6.1 user interface about he Recent Android 14 and the second comes standard A 5.1 user interface about Android 13.
Both models offer 4 years of updates of the operating system and 5 years of updates security guaranteed, so we can assume that the Galaxy A34, which should already be running Android 14 this year, will reach Android 17, while the A35 will benefit from Android 18.
Connectivity, networks and other specifications
In terms of connectivity, we saw more differences in wireless connections than in mobile networks. Both models already integrate 5G and also Bluetooth 5.3. But WiFi is improving in favor of the A35, with the WiFi 6 AX standard instead of the A34’s WiFi ac protocol.
It should also be noted that both terminals are water resistant with IP67 certification, as well as NFC for mobile payments or an in-screen fingerprint sensor.
Précio
This is the first thing that comes to our mind when looking for a mobile phone of this range. There will be an obvious price change, since one mobile dates from 2023 and another from 2024. We can currently see the Galaxy A34 from 269 dollars, if we choose 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage.
In the case of the Galaxy A35, now that it has just been released, we can find it with the same configuration for 379 dollars. That’s to say, 100 dollars more
