Apple’s main rival is Samsung. If the South Korean firm develops all types of products, it is best known for its mobile phones and tablets. In its catalog you will find a wide variety of models, from the economical entry-level range to the ambitious high-end or premium range.
Samsung has just launched its new family of smartphones on the market and, as usual, it is made up of three terminals. The Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra is the most complete of all and with a functionality that makes it practically unique (because there is no alternative): the S Pen.
Then there is the Samsung Galaxy S24+, which is a mid-range mobile phone with a large screen, good battery life and good performance. The most affordable is the Samsung Galaxy S24, which is the direct competitor of the iPhone 15, also Apple’s most “economical” proposal.
It is common to compare the two options for know in depth their characteristics, differences and pricesand evaluate whether one or the other is worth it (although this is subjective and depends on the user’s needs or preferences).

iPhone 15 VS Samsung Galaxy S24, which phone to buy?
The Galaxy S24 is one of Samsung’s new bets. It’s not the most spectacular of the three, but it’s a great starting point for users looking for good performance, quality cameras, a screen with lots of details and a size that is not excessively large (although it cannot be considered compact either).
Next to it (and on paper), the iPhone 15 has a hard time in certain sections, but now we’re going to talk about the strengths and weaknesses of each device, in addition to going deeper into some of them.
Strengths and weaknesses of the iPhone 15
- + OLED screen
- + Brightness up to 2,000 nits
- + Powerful chip
- + New 48 MP main camera
- + Dynamic island
- + USB-C connector
- + Good autonomy
- + Comes with iOS 17
- – Refresh rate at 60 Hz (for its price we would expect 120 Hz or at least 90 Hz)
- – USB-C transfer speeds are slow
- – Does not support Wi-Fi 6E
- – Does not have the same chip as the Pro models
- – Slightly high price with certain flaws for a high-end smartphone
Strengths and weaknesses of the Samsung Galaxy S24
- + Dynamic LTPO AMOLED 2X screen
- + Dynamic refresh rate up to 120 Hz
- + Maximum brightness of 2,600 nits
- + Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protection
- + Good connectivity
- +Android14
- + Better update support than previous generations
- + Advanced AI features
- \ It is less expensive than the iPhone (recommended price), but it still costs almost 1,000 dollars.
- – In USA (and most markets) it comes with Exynos instead of Snapdragon
The screen
It is already a tradition to comment the screen, because it is one of the most important elements of a mobile phone. The iPhone 15 has an OLED panel with good color reproduction that reaches 2,000 nits of brightness, which is particularly useful when consuming media content in HDR or when using it in the sun.
However, this also has its negative side, namely that the refresh rate is 60 Hzsomething difficult to understand for a high-end smartphone launched at the end of 2023. Even 200 euro Android devices have a higher refresh rate, around 90 or 120 Hz.
For its part, the Samsung Galaxy S24 promises a lot in this sense, since its screen Dynamic LTPO AMOLED 2X has a dynamic refresh rate of up to 120 Hz and a maximum brightness of 2,600 nits, as well as the function Always visible and Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protection.
The processor
One of Samsung’s great achievements with its Galaxy S23 was to use the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip, without distinguishing between markets. However, the illusion ended with the Samsung Galaxy S24, since In USA we have to settle for the Exynos 2400 chip.
Is this something very negative? Depends. The truth is that Galaxys equipped with Qualcomm processors have always obtained better performance and autonomy compared to their counterpart equipped with Exynos.
The iPhone 15 does not integrate the best Apple chip either, but rather has to “make do” with the A16 Bionic, the one that the company used in its last generation Pro smartphones. It’s a safe bet if you want a good experience and no compatible application can resist you.
