Samsung’s new foldables balk at offering a feature that’s becoming increasingly common

Samsung is the undisputed leader in an innovative smartphone sector, th at of foldable phones. This company aims to be the benchmark when these types of devices are more common and cheaper, but Chinese companies aren’t going to make it easy for them. A few hours ago we learned that OnePlus was preparing a mobile inspired by the OPPO Find N, and in a few days Vivo will present its first model, the one that will bet on the best features in all its sections.

And there the fingerprint sensor is included since this model will use two on the screen, one on the outside and one on the inside.

Samsung is hesitant to use the in-display fingerprint sensor

In its mid-range and high-end phones, Samsung uses in-screen sensors, but they are much slower than those used in Chinese phones. We have seen this recently in the analysis of the Samsung Galaxy A53 5G.

However, in foldables it has opted at all times to use side fingerprint sensors, which is noticeable, but in low or mid-range models.

It looks like with the Fold 4 and Flip 4 that’s going to continue, according to recently leaked information. We already knew that Samsung was going to be pretty continuous this year, but we weren’t sure it would be in this particular section. At least we’ll have a better camera.

What Samsung surely doesn’t want is having to duplicate things, especially now that the component and supply crisis is making it difficult to just be able to launch mobile phones at the same price as other years.
