While the main news focuses on One UI 7 and the launch of the Galaxy S25 series, it has been learned that Samsung is also preparing what will be its new rugged phone. One of its key components has appeared in one of the South Korean regulatory agencies, revealing to us some interesting details about the upcoming smartphone.
Samsung's future rugged smartphone
The future robust device will be called Galaxy Xcover 8 Proalthough this is not officially confirmed. What is more credible is that Safety Korea, through GalaxyClub, knew what the battery of this new terminal would look like.

The main known fact is that this battery has a higher capacity than that of the last two Xcover models, which is manufactured by a component supplier who has worked with Samsung for a long time and which everything seems to indicate which will be removablesomething that is a real surprise today.
This battery has the model number EB-BG766GBY which corresponds to the smartphone model SM-G766B, so I estimate that the name will be Xcover 8 Pro, since the Xcover 6 Pro was SM-G736B.
The battery that will assemble the robust future of the South Korean brand has a nominal capacity of 4,265 mAh and is typical of 4,365mAhwhich means it has 300 mAh more than its predecessors (Xcover 6 Pro and Xcover 7), which ran on 4,050 mAh.
It's unclear when this new Samsung device will launch, but it's likely we'll see it in mid-2025.
