Ever since Apple launched the MacBook Air M3 earlier this month, we’ve been waiting for new iPads. Now it looks like we have a date – and we just have to wait a little l onger.
According to the Chinese-language site IT Home (via Macrumors), Apple will unveil its new iPads on Tuesday, March 26, based on an analysis of several tablet-related accessories expected to go live on Amazon. It’s unclear which models will launch first or if there will be a short pre-order period. A separate report from Ross Young, Display Supply Chain Consultant says supplies of the 11-inch models may be more limited than those of the larger 12.9-inch models.
Apple is expected to update the iPad Air and iPad Pro with the first new models in over a year. The most notable update will be an all-new 12.9-inch iPad Air model as a cheaper alternative to the flagship iPad Pro. It is also expected to feature a better camera and processor. The iPad Pro is rumored to feature OLED displays, an M3 processor and a slimmer design along with a higher price.
New 11-inch and 12.9-inch Magic Keyboards are rumored to likely support both Air and Pro models. Reports indicate that the new keyboards will be more robust and MacBook-like. A new Apple Pencil should also be launched to refresh the range.
After the iPad launch, Apple’s next event will likely be WWDC in June, which is expected to be announced next week. Apple will unveil iOS 18, iPadOS 18, macOS 15 and new versions of the rest of its operating systems. It could also unveil new hardware, like a new Mac mini and Mac Studio.
