Write and send a WhatsApp message and repent in the moment This is something that has happened to all of us. Whether it’s because the proofreader played a trick on us or simply because we don’t think before writing, we head straight to the trash can button to delete it.
And now we can do it, which was impossible not so long ago. However, there is a more recommended option in these cases to avoid leaving the recipient with the message “This message has been deleted”: this is the possibility to edit them
Don’t delete this message, edit it
Maybe you didn’t know that WhatsApp allows you to edit sent messages, since this function was not added very long ago. He arrived last year and since then he has been better solution than deleting the message. Of course, everything will depend on each situation: you may prefer to eliminate it.
How can I edit a WhatsApp message? Very simple, once sent it will be displayed in the chat. It will be as simple as holding your finger down on said message, and when it is marked (it is green in color), we will touch the three small dots that appear in the upper right corner.
With this button they will be displayed more options, among which we will see the one we are looking for: “Modify”. Tap it to enter edit mode. We will see the highlighted message and the text bar at the bottom where to correct the message.
Write the correction and when it is ready, press the green button which appears with a checkmark ✓ (or a check, as we prefer to call it). Ready! Your message will have changed, but consider that the recipient will know that it has been modified. Below the message, there will be a “Modified” next to the sent time.
Another aspect to consider is that we have about 15 minutes to edit it since we sent it. After this period, the option will no longer appear and we will only be left with the possibility of deleting it (which takes several days).
Therefore, we have a Limited time to edit messages but if we are careful this is not a problem as an alternative to deletion. Ultimately, we can choose to delete it or simply leave a later message of regret. I’m sure they understand that.
