After the flurry of launches we saw yesterday with the new iPad (2022), iPad Pro M2 and new Apple TV 4K, Apple announced availability and new software. We’ve already seen Shared Albums arrive in iOS 16.1, but there’s more: Siri will be redesigned in tvOS 16.
A redesign that comes with several new features to help us decide what to watch and to interact with the results and with the system in general in a more comfortable way. News that we can enjoy, surely, starting next Monday, October 24, with the arrival of tvOS 16.1.
Modifications for a more personalized use
One of the coolest new features of the Siri redesign in tvOS 16 will be the ability for the Siri assistant to recognize the different voices of users. Just like the HomePod mini currently does, with this feature we can ask for recommendations or replays and have them personalized based on who requests them.
Additionally, Siri is getting a complete overhaul so that instead of taking up the bottom third of the screen, the assistant is now in the bottom left corner, just like on iPads. The way of presenting the information is also different, using a sort of drop-down list just above the Siri icon and compressing the information on one side with a more compact design.
Ultimately, Siri in tvOS 16 will be able to recommend what to watch. With a request as simple as “What can I watch”, our assistant will launch a series of recommendations adapted to our preferences and reading history.
Apple hasn’t specified exactly when this news will arrive in tvOS 16. What we do know is that we expect tvOS 16.1 to be introduced on October 24th, a great time to implement the changes, although we were talking about hypotheses without official confirmation. Modifications, in any case, will facilitate our interaction with television and that he answers any question in a more efficient and personalized way.
