Google’s infotainment system is a great help to me in getting to my destination with a good experience, thanks among other things to the navigation, messaging and entertainment applications that are compatible, although in the latter category it must be recognized that there are rather few. Watching videos on Android Auto is a very useful plus, but when I discovered that it was also I could watch TV on Android Auto, it went up a level.
It sounds silly, but for those summer van trips or when you’re going camping and there’s something you absolutely want to see (say, the occasional Euro Cup match), it makes a difference. Ditto if you had an electric car with Android Auto and had to sit still for a while while it charged. In those cases, it’s a joy watch TNT channels for free, legally and without risk
This is how I watch TV on Android Auto
No app in the Google Play Store is officially compatible with watching TV on Android Auto, so it’s time to alternative apps of the extraction platform for Android Auto AAStore and from there install another app called IPcarTV.
For download and install AAStore on our mobile First, you need to go to its GitHub repository to find the latest stable version. To install it, it is essential to have enabled the ‘Unknown sources’ option, which will allow you to install applications in APK format. After granting the appropriate permissions, you are ready to download other applications.
Once AAStore is installed on your mobile, when you enter the platform you will see what you have on these lines: the list of available applications in alphabetical order. You must scroll down until you find IPcarTV and enter to install it after pressing the button ‘Install
With IPcarTV installed, we already have practically everything we need to watch TV on Android Auto, but we will need an IPTV list that hosts the DTT channels on the one hand and a place to put it in IPcarTV.
There are a few IPTV lists out there, although not all of them are equally good.. Personally, I really like TDT channels for its frequent updates and IPTV organization, my favorite with more than 10,000 channels and available on GitHub. Whichever list you choose, the important thing is to have the link and copy it, since we will have to copy it into the application.
With the link in the mobile clipboard, we return to IPcarTV and in ‘Playlist and favorite channel manager‘, we touch the ‘+’ and there we name it and paste the link. Finally, we approach ‘Following‘. That’s it: when you open IPcarTV in Android Auto, all the channels will appear so you can watch DTT in the car.
It is true that IPcarTV does not have the full screen streaming function, but it occupies almost the entire screen and is not bad at all to get you out of trouble (the car screen is larger than that of my mobile phone), leaving the bottom bar at the disposal of Android Auto and its controls. Likewise, its behavior is quite fluid, offering a decent audiovisual experience (as far as is technically possible) to pass the time or watch content you don’t want to miss.
