Soon we will have animated Emoji on WhatsApp

WhatsApp animated emojis

WhatsApp continues to move at a snail’s pace but at least continues to plan new features for its messaging app, and Next will be the animated emoji, something we have had on Telegram for years and that we will soon be able to enjoy in the Meta app as well.

While other applications have been using custom and animated emojis for years, in WhatsApp we continue with the emojis that come by default on our phone, without further ado. But it seems that things will not change for a long time, since some users who are testing the beta version of the Meta messaging app can already enjoy the first animated emoji, and you have a sample of them in the image with which we begin the article. At the moment, there are very few emoji that have these short but striking animations.

but it is expected that little by little (very little by little if you follow the usual rhythm) new ones will complete the collection. The emoji that I have been able to verify and that have animations are the six that you see in the image, according to WhatsApp the most used and therefore the first to be able to enjoy these animations.

Animations can be displayed when you receive an emoji on your phone and can be repeated by tapping on the emoji in question. The animation also repeats every time you enter the character and the emoji appears on the screen. They are very short in duration, they are not animated in a constant loop. In addition to the animation, they are a little larger than normal emoji. In order for the animation to occur, they must be sent alone, if two or more emoji are sent, they will be smaller in size and not animated. When will this new feature be available to everyone?

At the moment we don’t have an official date for the app, but given that it is already available to many users in beta, it is normal that it won’t take too long to reach everyone.
