In recent years, Samsung phones have been very consistent, and that’s a good thing because it’s exactly what customers expected; but it can work against you when faced with new competition.
However, the latest leaks suggest that Samsung will apply several changes to the Galaxy S25 Ultrawhich could further distinguish it from the rest of the Galaxy S range and make it more attractive to those looking for a premium mobile. One of these changes could be in name, since a rumor suggests that the device will be called Galaxy Note.
Now, Ice Universe has posted on X (Twitter) that the size of the device will change to become more competitive. One of the most important changes will concern the thickness, which would remain at 8.2 mm; that would be a big improvement over the Galaxy S24 Ultra’s 8.6mm and should be noticeable in the hand.
Surprisingly, the S25 Ultra would change much more; for example, it would be larger than the S24 Ultra, remaining at 162.8 mm, a growth of 0.5 mm. On the other hand, the width would be reduced, remaining at 77.6 mm compared to the 79 mm of the previous generation. All this can translate into a mobile phone with different proportions, probably with the aim of improve ergonomics and continuous use for hours.
According to the same user, Samsung is also working on improving one of the elements that has changed the least in recent years: the wide-angle camera. The leak claims that The wide angle will now use a 50 Mpx sensora big improvement over the 12MP sensor used by the S24 Ultra’s wide-angle; it’s also said to have an improved f/1.9 aperture.
It is very likely that the new wide-angle will have an autofocus mechanism for macro captures and that it will be able to record videos in 4K at 60 fps or 8K at 30 fps. We know all this because it seems that it will be the same 50 MP sensor used in the periscope camera. Similarly, the telephoto lens with 3x zoom, which in the S24 has a sensor of only 10 MP, would also be improved to a 50 MP sensor.
In other words, the Galaxy S25 Ultra would have a 200 Mpx main sensor and three 50 Mpx secondary sensors; and all this, with a lesser thickness and a more ergonomic format. These would be compelling reasons to change your mobile phone.
