If you exercise, you can benefit from the new Spotify feature!
Spotify has found a new proposition to differentiate itself from similar services. As we knew this week, the entertainment platform operates in integration with an app that tracks health data to provide exercise playlistsbased on information collected from each user.
This upcoming news was originally shared from product designer Chris Messina’s Twitter account, which identified the code found in the Spotify app. Thanks to these data Spotify will be able to access information through the HealthKit app and get data such as time spent in physical activity, pace, intensity, calories burned and more.

Spotify will know what the perfect song to practice is
HealthKit is an iOS API that allows third-party apps to access data from Apple’s Health app. By obtaining specific data, Spotify will be able to suggest specific songs for each person that motivate them during workouts, just as it does with its popular playlists, available for almost any situation we want to put to music.
Before taking advantage of this feature which aims to put our workouts to music and encourage us during each practice, apps using the HealthKit API should ask users if they want to share the data from your Health application or not.
The above is an essential requirement for Spotify to collect this data. Even though it is still unclear how Spotify will manage all user health data
In addition to this information, Messina also shared that the latest Spotify iOS app update has a new page to manage paid subscriptions.. One of the key changes is that users can’t change their plans directly in the app, and the company “knows that’s not ideal.”
As for Workout Lists, however, Messina hasn’t shared any additional information about when it will launch, or how the service will leverage health data, or on which devices.
