After the mini-LED display hit the 12.9″ iPad Pro, it was easy to assume it would hit the smaller iPad Pro as well. An arrival that could have already happened last year, but which, at least, one would expect this. An arrival which, however, it seems more and more distant.

A more elusive panel than it seems

The number of leaks and rumors claiming that no new mini-LED devices will arrive this year

. One of the first was analyst Ross Young, who claimed that Apple has no plans to bring mini-LED technology to the 11-inch iPad Pro. This information joins the incessant rumors that we could see an iPad with an OLED screen.

Now, Ming Chi Kuo, by Twitterconfirmed his statements from a few days ago in which he told us that we will not see new devices with mini-LEDs in 2022. The renowned analyst clarifies that he expects that don’t see new mini-LED products with new screen sizes

.

With this appreciation, we would be faced with a possible renewal of the iPad Pro in which the 12.9-inch model continues to offer a mini-LED panel while its 11-inch variant follows with LCD panels. A somewhat peculiar situation that also leads us to believe that the rumors of a new Apple Studio Display with mini-LED will go beyond this year.

iPad Pro M1 (2021), review: power and experience

While we’ve seen mini LED panels arrive in a number of devices, the pace might be slower than many of us would like. Mention here that we don’t know how much of this mini LED panel deployment strategy is intentional and how much has been seen reduced or made impossible due to the difficulties encountered by the channel of supplies. In any case, there are already several rumors that lead us to believe that this year the screens will continue to be as we know them.
